I get it that this is a political place and we've all got our differing ideas on politics, religion, etc. but man! I was very uplifted by Ken Connor's article here until I started reading all the petty name-calling arguments in the comments section. Normally that doesn't bother me, but I'm afraid that by getting into these stupid arguments it took all of two seconds to forget the point that Mr. Connor was just making about being Christian.
I am a nineteen-year-old college student, currently taking a summer Humanities class. And yes, there is a great deal of very biased liberal opinions presented by the teacher as fact. She's a nice enough person and I certainly don't think she's setting out to lie to her students, but that's not the point. The point is that even if she believes what she says, her opinions are her opinions and nothing more, but when presented as fact to any student who does not already know about the subject or heard the opposing set of opinions, that is when indoctrination occurs. Many people my age think they know things that they in fact do not, simply because they have only ever heard one side of the argument.

No Cash For "Bruno"

"Bruno," aside from being gross and crude, is offensive for the dishonesty, as Mr. Bozell pointed out with the Alabama pastor who was duped into being a part of this. There is no way that that should ever have been allowed to happen.
Although I get the point that the daughter was trying to make, I can't say I agree. I'm a nineteen-year-old girl (and a big country music fan)and I hardly feel that that song, or country music in general, promotes mediocrity. Rather, it makes the point that money and fancy stuff is not the be all and end all -- something that few music genres do.

Peace of mind is most important. If you've got the material stuff, great, but if not there are still ways to be happy. The left has a thing about claiming the world is going to end any second, but it is the people like those described in this song who can figure out that if you're happy with the person you are, that's all that matters.
This is a fantastic article! I read it thinking about two 13-year-olds I happen to know, one a boy and the other a girl. I'm thinking about sharing it with them, because this was presented very well.
While I get your point Mr. Kennedy, I'm a little unsure about how wise it is. The economy does need help, and the average American citizen would benefit most from a stimulated economy. It seems to me that it would be better to go ahead and try to fix this then to deliberately slam on the breaks out of dislike for Obama.
I cannot believe that this can be real! How can the government possibly gain so much control over people's lives?! This is ridiculous. I hope this country will not just bow to the will of Obama and Washington's Democrats. We're in trouble if they do.
