The solution is simple...Democrats are up in arms over corporations donating to political campaigns, how bout this, IF an entity of any nature donates one cent to any political campaign or lobbyist, they immediately lose tax exempt status.

Henry, first, thanks for clarifiying, I thought your comment early about knowing nothing about the military was aimed at me. Second, Nodeamass will never see the falacies of his own arguments. He keeps lumping DOE expenditures into the DOD budget, and then when called on it tried to lump VA into the DOD budget. I'm sure if we give him enough time he'll figure out a way to lump the GM bailout into the DOD budget!

I agree, Romney threw away his "Washington Outsider" appeal when he nominated Ryan, one of the most divisive figures in Washington today. Not to say I don't agree with a lot of Ryan's positions, but when you're attempting to sell yourself as the party that can make a difference in Washington, you can't nominate someone from inside Washington, particularly not someone who's image is so entermingled with currenty budget standoff/gridlock/stalemate.

Wow...more uninformed non-sense. The VA and DoD are completely separate entities, and the VA most certainly doesn't pay one red cent for any on-post activities. You really should go get educated on the federal budget and how it works.

So, by your logic of adding another departments budget to the military's budget, can I add FEMA's budget to the entitlement spending numbers? That makes about as much sense.

Ummm...what I know about the military? I'm a CPT in the Army, been doing it for 8+ years now, and in July sat on an advisory board for how to re-shape the Army's Engineer forces in the face of the coming cuts. Suffice it to say, I know a thing or two about how the Army operates.
