Dark Days for Solar Power

This one paragraph says it all: "Believe it or not, though, some in Washington still won’t relent even when faced with facts like these. Efficiency doesn’t matter, they claim -- government spending helps stimulate the economy, regardless." If Congress and the President were willing to put their own money on the line then perhaps it might be a good investment. But "investments" are easy when using somebody else's money. It's like playing poker with fake chips--no real skin in the game changes behavior completely.

You would expect Dr. Sowell, an economist, to write about the events in the ME vs. something he is well-versed with, economics?

Madison Madness

I hope Walker does not listen to the moderate Republicans (aka RINOs) who are talking compromise with the MIA Dem Senators! What is being asked in the legislation is hardly draconian. Each year in the company I work for we have to pay more for health insurance based on costs. And our retirement money is funded by us into 401k's with a match of up to 4%, hardly the level that my taxes go to support the government employees.

Airport "Security"?

When you are flying out of Israel, no matter what airline, you will be questioned. And that is everyone. The security folks are trained to to observer the passengers' behavior to determine those who need additional questioning and searching of their body and luggage. Until you get through that checkpoint you can't even check in and check you luggage. Then there is a second security screening, similar to what we used to have here in the US, before getting to the gates. I flew to Israel for training last April and flew into and out of Israel on Continental Airlines.
I would be more than happy to see the subsidies to oil and gas disappear if those for renewable energy also did. And the government got out of the business of requiring gasoline be mixed with ethanol. We'd be much better off if they got out of, as Ms. Pavlich says, the business of picking winners and losers.

California’s Demise

Unfortunately many libs will leave as well, bringing with them the same disease that has pretty much destroyed California. Just take a look at what's happened to Oregon and Washington. That too is coming to a state near you!

Repeal the 26th Amendment!

It offends me to think that you, who've never paid any consequential amount in taxes, t have the right to vote on how money is to be stolen from those who actually make a living and don't live under the roof of their parents. What you don't understand is that you will be saddled with the debt that that Obama and his ilk are creating.

Repeal the 26th Amendment!

That's because you are too stupid to do otherwise. And you clearly don't have the frontal lobe development that Ms. Coulter talked about. You still living at home? Are your parents still paying your way in life? Are you still on your parents' insurance? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions then you do not deserve the right to vote and demand that we tax payers pay your way!

Our Contemptible Congress

Did you not read Mr. Williams' comments about the good congressman from NJ? He didn't seem to have a clue either. And I do believe that those Republicans who ignore the Constitution are not true conservatives.

A New York Earthquake?

The problem with the NY Republican party is that they keep picking weak candidates. Just look at Scuzzifellow (I know that wasn't her name but it probably fits) for the NY 23rd district special election. And Lazio has been a perennial candidate for one state-wide office after another.
