Republicans - swallow your pride. The country is at stake. Do you want to continue this slide into stateism, sympathetic to Sharia law, or the small government and free society of our founders? Consider your vote carefully and support the candidate that will move you in the direction you want to see this country go. It is not rocket science!

Haven't we seen enough to charge a few people with out and out treason? How much more evidence is required to see that the government no longer wishes to protect it's (OUR) sovereignty?

Equality? As long as there are – short people and tall people, thin and fat, healthy and sick intelligent and unintelligent good and bad greedy and generous informed and uninformed hard working and lazy disciplined and undisciplined aggressive and passive extroverts and introverts wise and stupid responsible and irresponsible truth-tellers and liars faithful and unfaithful, honest and dishonest, loyal and disloyal, genuine and deceitful, beautiful and ugly, etc., etc., there will never be equality in this world. There will only be the powerful and the helpless. Equality? Human nature is not exclusive to any race or economic ideology. Anyone who thinks otherwise is dangerously naïve and would be the oppressor he claims he...

It is only fitting that the Climate Conference is being held in Copenhagen, home of Hans Christian Andersen, author of the The Emperor's New Clothes. The story is a tale of corrupt individuals who exploit others in power to gain wealth while still others unwittingly assist, coveting their pride and position more than truth. A cautionary tale, most appropriate for today.

Al Gore? The emperor has no clothes!

If you have not read Anderson's The Emperor's New Clothes, please do. You will then have a better view of this world full of emperors and their admirers (the media, et al.).

Please help people to see the Emperor has no clothes:

IPCC
Obamacare
Federal Stimulus Bill

You name it -- the emperor has no clothes!!!!!

I do take a slight exception to #7. God is a spirit and has not a body. Men and women are not only created as physical compliments, but created in the image of God. Therefore God's nature encompases all that is male and female. This establishes the argument that the best environment in which children should be conceived and raised is within a committed marriage relationship between a man and a women who at their best in combination bring the full nature of God into raising the son or daughter.
Eleven score and one year ago our fathers authored and ratified, for this nation, a new ideal for governing, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great political civil war of words, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met here in the great national forum of debate. We have come to advocate the fundamental principles of economic and political freedom for those who are living and those who gave their lives that that this nation might live and prosper. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
But in a larger sense we cannot ignore - we cannot abuse - we cannot set aside these...

Has anyone noticed that the Left represents itself by defending lying, cheating, misrepresentation, irresponsibility, strong-arming, bribes, victimization, collectivism, dependency, cronyism, criminal activities, corruption and unconstitutional legislation, while the right represents itself by defending truth, honesty, freedom, capitalism, transparency, self sufficiency, private charitible contributions, lawful behavior, responsibility, and constitutional integrity?

What is so hard to understand which side truly compassionate people should be on?
You are a lightening rod, Ann. I think you are right on.

The reason sparks fly is because we have finally gotten down to the nitty gritty. It is the conflict of worldviews - a God directed world and life view as opposed to a godless-man directed world and life view.

Thank you for this insight, Professor Adams. I would take exception to #2 - I believe the MAJORITY never really stops throwing tantrums these days.

There is a difference in giving offence and taking offence. One who gives offence usually does so intentionally. One who takes offence, chooses to do so as you point out, but the so called "offender" may not have said anything that was unkind or untrue. Go figure.

These days, when truth can be your own construct, I guess you can choose to become offended by anything outside that construct. As a result we can assume that the those of us with the strongest of personal convictions (integrity) are the most offensive of all. It's unavoidable.
