Maybe some of us laugh at comedians, watch TV, go to movies, attend concerts, without first researching the performers' political inclinations. Was Henny Youngman a liberal or conservative? Was Gene Kelly a Republican or a Democrat? I don't know and I don't care.

Actually, Jon Stewart is funniest when he show clips of politicians or media figures saying ridiculous things, and making no comment at all. The audience howls.
