Mr. Towery, Ron Smith is fortunate in having a friend such as you. Not everyone has, or ever will have a friend who they can count on to care. Like Mr. Smith, I have been given my notice and a time limit and my family is taking it harder than I am. I figute that living to seventy-eight is a fairly long time to live and I have crammed three life times into one very busy person who loved working for sixty-nine of those years. Mr. Ransom, I wish you and everyone else would stop bellyaching about Obama. He is an uneducated half white half black who hit it big time with a gift of gab, similar to Eddie Murphy, only lighter. If it were not for a little decorum forced upon him, I am sure the swear words would be in every thing he said, but then, he rarely speaks words he has written since he literally can't write literate work. He needs others to do it for him, people who the world does not know and will never know, the "little, unimportant folks" to Obama. He uses people and discards them at any whim. Liberals are by nature liars. The nature of their beliefs drives and sustains this tendency. The liberal philosophies exhibited by many disconsolate, deluded individuals in the U.S.A and around the world are not viable in reality. I truly wish these philosophies were innocuous in nature; however, they are quite detrimental to the well being of the various peoples of the world. Dr. Sowell, What happened to going to school to get an education? There were bullies when I went to school and we managed to handle them ourselves. I was in the fifth grade when I was eight so I know what a small male has to do to protect himself, make a good friend out of a large classmate and stick to him at recess and after school until you get home. Sixty-eight years ago, no one talked about homosexuals because in our world there weren't any. Now, they are everywhere, or seem to be. They are the topic of conversation because the Liberals/Progressives want them to be the topic of conversation, why? It just breeds hate to force anyone to accept something he or she will not accept. Mr. Barone, As slowly as our government moves these days, nothing of any consequence will be done until after November, 2012, when, hopefully, new blood will refresh our nation and give it room to breathe, something that has been smothered in hypocrisy since January, 2009. Mr. Brown, This memorial might be fine if it were not for someone who spent his life on his knees, so to speak, and he wasn't praying. I have known a number of gays in my lifetime, never on an intimate basis, however, and have always found it hard not to think about the lifestyle and where that lifestyle leads homosexuals, both male and female. "One night stands" might easily label the life of most gays and few bind for life, contrary to the propaganda, but hunt until they are too old or not attractive enough to draw anyone. Public restrooms seem to draw them like dead animals draw flies. Aside from any religious condemnation, it is not a healthy way to live. Clifton Lee West
