I'm reminded of a talk show host on radio I listened to in the early 1980s, who refereed to this as "the either-or mentality". Even Commander Spock in the second Star Trek movie referred to Kahn's "two-dimensional thinking" (OK, I admit I'm a Trekker!). The truth is there are multiple "sides" to any issue and these "sides" can and will manipulate the story as it suits them. People, especially those who are arming themselves for the first time, need to become intimately familiar with their weapon(s) of choice. And training is essential IMO. And if private entities insist on making their places on business "gun free zones", they should be required to post LARGE prominent signs at each and every public entrance that are worded in a fashion similar to the warnings on cigarettes. "WARNING, THIS IS A GUN FREE ZONE. YOUR LIFE IS AT RISK OF POSSIBLE INJURY OR DEATH FROM CRIMINALS BEARING ILLEGAL WEAPONS. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!" I wonder how many malls and movie theaters would re-think their policies when required to inform potential customer prior to their entering?
