And his headline picture is of the First Lady of The United States, a black woman married to a black man whom white people elected to office. But the problem is white racism.
Racism may have played a significant part of the problems for the black community in the 1960's but to point to that today is missing the forest for the trees.
I would ask Mr. Chapman the same question that George Will once asked regarding this problem: "What mechanism not now in place would you enact to address this problem?" Mr. Chapman asks us to ignore the growing problem in the black community as an answer to its pathologies as these pathologies continue to metastasize, ignoring the obvious truth that these same pathologies, which the black community itself can only correct, are a mitigating factor in these unpleasant social realities.
Except it sends the message that sodomy and other forms of sexual deviancy are normal and those who are engaged in them are not psycho-sexually dysfunctional. If they can't get the most primal aspect of their humanity correct, how can they get all the other societal aspects correct? Remember, a governorship, like all elected offices, is not a popularity contest. We are investing this individual with political power over us. As the song says, "He can't even run his own life; I'll be damned if he'll run mine."

You hit the nail on the head, Rod. He "got a taste of the gravy train" and wants back in. The guy's a political opportunist. I'd prefer a hard core Liberal than a faux conservative.
I hate to say this but I'm afraid that is exactly what it is going to take to wake the vast majority of people in this country. But even then it is going to be too late. We have allowed too many wrong things to grow in this country and the problems are now systemic.
Don't you believe him; don't you believe him for one minute. This is just another political animal looking to get into office more than looking to make a difference. He's really adept at focusing on the one political hot item that will get him name recognition and elected into office, like his supposed opposition to Obamacare catapulted him into office the first time, but once in office, he legislates like Olympia Snowe and one cannot discern the difference between Brown and Shaheen.

Another example of why I will always read Suzanne Field. Why are there not more writers like her anymore?
