EffectChange, you are flat out wrong. The Founders were Theists, not Deists, atheists, or agnostics. They believed in the Creator as the author of morality. Some were Christians, some not. The Creator they accepted was the Judeo-Christian God. It was not Allah, Krishna, Gaia, or other god. Their backgrounds were firmly in the western tradition of religion. The Founders wanted everyone to be free to worship as they pleased without an official national church as in England.
