Gallop survey, September 24-27, 2012: Republican 28%, Independent 38%, Democrat 32%, Republican w/"Leaners" 43%, Democrat w/"Leaners" 50%. Obviously, that 47% Romney mentioned is going to vote Democrat regardless of how badly Obama has performed. Romney was simply saying he was not going to waste time and resources trying to turn the Dark Side to his favor. Diehard Democrats are no more going to vote for a Republican than diehard Republicans are going to vote for a Democrat. This is not news to anyone.
