Use them wisely.
There's a world of difference between the press being unhappy with Obama and learning to become objective reporters.

For the life of me, I never understood parents who have no problem with allowing those with conflicting values to exercise control of any element of their childrens' development. On some level, it seems to me to be child neglect.

An important addeneum: "That's easy to do when one has no unifying category of analysis to begin with. The West has given up the one that made it great, AND KEPT COMPETING BUT INFERIOR IDEOLOGIES AT BAY, and now has only the shifting sand of value relativism to rely on. My memory is a bit shaky on the point, but, wasn't it Trotsky or some other prominent Marxist who visited America in the early 30's and concluded that the soil was not conducive YET for Marxism to take hold here? And Islam was some other foreign intruder who wisely kept its distance, as did such other variant ideas such as a "woman's right to choose" and "gay marriage". It is instructive to note that these ideas could not find fertile ground to take root and...

“the Islamist preachers and ideologues have succeeded in imposing on the rest of us their own categories of analysis.” That's easy to do when one has no unifying category of analysis to begin with. The West has given up the one that made it great and now has only the shifting sand of value relativism to rely on. You can thank the "Enlightenment" for that.
"You missed the irony in Fred's post." Enlighten me.

Fred wrote: "So now, the blacks have enjoyed 40+ years of legal equal rights with white people after hundreds of years of slavery. There isn't a black person alive today in America who has even the faintest memory of being a slave and their ancestors would kick their a**es for playing victim instead of taking advantage of opportunites they never had. Time to put that to rest, you guys. It ain't cutting it anymore. What it is doing, however, is making any genuine grievances you might have

David , at 10:21 am writes: " IF I HAD A CHOICE, I might not vote for anyone with a D or R before their name. " Exactly why I, personally, am opposed to ANYTHING Obama does or proposes. Because we really never had a choice but it was decided by others and then we're made to think it was our choice all along. Kagan's as dumb as the rest of them; either that ot she's in on the game. But seeing the "Oh boy, I'm gonna be a Supreme Court Justice" look in her eyes, I'm betting she's just another useful idiot.
