Evil in its most dangerous form is 95% truth and 5 percent distortion of truth. To give the same protection to behavior that was once considered illegal by statutes, and always considered detestable by God as proclaimed in scriptures, is slowing destroying our culture.
That's you choice whether you choose to believe in God. My point is that we were a nation formed on Christian principles that resulted in us being a compassionate, moral, fair, and prosperous country. As we choose to flush those principles down the toilet in the name of tolerance, we will no longer be the best place to live in this world. The US government is secular, but the principles of law were established based on Judeo-Christian ethics.
Prov 14:12 - "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. - 1 John 5:3-4 The main reason that bible following Christians oppose "homosexual marraige" is out of loving concern for people and our society. When loved ones are caught up in living a lie, you do what you can to expose that lie and then help them deal with the lie in a compassionate way. It makes no difference whether one is born with a sinful challenge or not, it doesn't change the fact that God calls homosexuality a sin. If you want a relationship...

The basis for for happiness endowed by a Creator as you stated means coming under the boundaries as set by our Creator. The ten commandments served as the backdrop for establishing our laws as given by our Creator. The ten commandments do not provide for homosexuality.

Doctors refer clients all the time to other specialists who are more adept at treating the issue of a patient. I don't see this as any different. You are talking about a college student. Do you remember what college is like? It is a time where debate is free and ideals are debated and questioned. It is quite possible that a student who isn't capable with dealing with a certain issue as a rookie, might very well be able to handle the same type of counseling situation as they mature in their profession. Students are more passionate in their viewpoints which often soften as they discuss these views in an open environment. It seems rather silly to suggest that a Christian isn't capable of being an objective counselor. The tenants...

There is a big difference between honest debate and ignorant name calling designed to demean and end debate. Calling someone a "brain dead witch" eliminates credibility. Make your point with examples that substantiate your point and let the reader judge your comments based on their merit.

"religious right is dying" "the old bigots" "outdated nonsense" "braindead witch" "Talibangelists" I didn't have to scoll a page down to find these prejudicial statements. To claim to be tolerant and enlightened and then to flame any opposing view with ignorant and pathetic slurs helps me to understand how hypocritical most are.

This issue isn't about the choice of homosexuality. It is about an institution of learning forcing a world view on a student. She handled the situation very well by referring her client to a place where they would receive objective counselling. There are none who don't bring their beliefs into their profession in some way. Look at the comments here. Those who claim dogmatically that it is either a definitive choice or a born identitiy are both wrong. It is a belief system that drives either claim.
