Would Moloch worship qualify for a protected religion?

Ibn Warraq, an apostate muslim's book, "Why I'm Not a Muslim" is worthwhile reading as well. In short, Americans would be advised to bone up on all of the internal inconsistencies in that ridiculous excuse of a religion in order to shame them into silence. If that's possible. But there are so many logical inconsistencies in that religion it is not funny. And the Enlightenment guys think they found flaws in Christianity? Man, this thing is a target rich environment for a humanist sceptic yet they are compelled to defend it against a belief system that is far more internally consistent and, ironically, the one that gave rise to the very freedoms they use to defend it. There's of course no logical consistency in them either so they make...

You got that right, Joycey. That's the elephant in the middle of the room. Why are they aggravating the situation? Didn't anyone in the news room think that maybe giving this thing national coverage would be a bad idea for the same reason they thought burning that sorry excuse for a book, let alone a religious book, might be? Ever read that thing? It reads like a sixth grader on crack trying to re-write the Bible.

Hey tinsldr2, is there a point, in your mind, where extending the freedom of religion would be inappropriate?

"but he does NOT send his drones to intentionally kill innocent civilians, blow up wells or firebomb entire villages. " Right. That's Hamas and Hezzbolah's job.

Oh, you just wait until the Portland Press Herald gets their mits on him. Like Jock McKernan, the last Republican governor (and Olympia Snowe's husband, if you can believe it!) they won;t give him a chance to catch his breath. It'll be all negative reporting, all the time, for the LePage administration. They are scum.

goodnoyz, you've hit the nail on the head. The real problem here, as always, is the corrupt American media. This side show is so incredibly not news it boggles the mind, but the know-it-all media had to blow it up into the sensation it now is, just so they can feel good about themselves. If anyone has endangered the troops it's the media for giving this guy international attention.
