To anyone who watched in horror and amazement as the media promoted, out of nowhere, an inexperienced junior Senator with little to no qualifications for the job, to an electorate they deliberately kept ill-informed, while the opposition acted as if it were either asleep or complicit in their promotion of a candidate with sympathetic leanings, this is to be expected.

The only question is, who, exactly, is pulling the strings?

I'd burn the NIV and its derivatives too.

Not for reasons of Mr. Grizzard's misguided religiosity but because, due to their emphasis on ease of reading in place of accuracy in translation, valueable signposts for discernment and interpretation are further obscured.

The KJV has its own problems in that area due to archaic words and meanings but at least it is accurate in translation and the discerning reader, in keeping with Scriptural admonition, will be required to stretch his abilities and be rewarded for doing so.

Personally, I find the RSV to be a stronger translation than the NIV without the archaic usages of the KJV.
