They are simply two sides of the same coin.

I wouldn't take much comfort in it.

Luke 11:24-26

"When the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest; and finding none he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes he finds it swept and put in order. Then he goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first."

here in Portland.

We have, concurrently, a growing same sex couple population (third highest per capita in the nation) and a growing Islamic population.

I'm considering moving.

as anyone who has been evaluating societal trends from a Biblical perspective could have told you 30 years ago.

Sadly, those of us who study these things note that Biblically speaking, homosexuality is always accompanied by finality, and never repentance.

Interesting hypothesis.

I was somewhat doubtful of your conclusions so I did a brief word study on "sand" in the OT.

Interesting that the ephah in Zech.5 is taken to "the land of Shinar". Shinar is associated with ancient Bablyon, at least empirically if not figuratively as well, and we know that Babylon is the source of the mystery religions.

Interesting also to note, that during the time of Daniel's tenure under Belshazzar, his father, Nabonidus, was in the desert worshipping the "moon god", hence making Belshazzar the second ruler. (Dan.5:16, 29)

"...and I do not recall conservatives being in such an uproar about McVeigh's act."

I hope you also don't recall them trying to make excuses for him or his motives.

The idea of the put-upon homosexual in America is a myth and blatant propaganda.

The real reason homosexuals have a problem with Christianity is twofold:

One: Christian teaching is the premier impediment to the social conditioning of society to normatizing the dysfunctional sexual behavior of homosexuals, and

Two: The Biblical perspective places a subconcious restriction to the abandonment of all moral restraints in the subconcious and reminds the practitioner of homosexual behavior that there are consequences to breaking rules of morality.

I am pleased to note that you call it "Revolution" and not merely "Reformation".

Unless you can demonstrate how the "revolution" will benefit the majority, instead of a select and exclusive minority, the measure of resistance to it is indicative of the health of the society affected by it.
