Sorry, Mike, but we can't all agree on your "undeniable proposition." While it is true that legal immigrants who harm our country should be punished and/or deported, it is NOT true that illegal immigrants who might do our country good should be allowed to stay. That puts us in the untenable position of trying to decided the potential goodness of each illegal immigrant, rather than enforcing our laws as they are written. Let's send them home, and allow them to do good in their own counries, which surely need it, or attempt to enter our country legally.
