The people at the LA Times think their ideological viewpoint is right down the middle rather than the reality of their being a far left wing rag. They are so far left that the left looks like the center.

Derek is right. Nixon made the mistake of not firing the perpetrators of the burglary and tried to help them instead. He never got anyone killed. He may have been paranoid, I don't know. The detainees are not just prisoners, they are prisoners of war. POW's get out when the war is over and not before. They don't get trials for anything unless they are for war crimes. Follow the traditional Geneva Conventions even if the other side doesn't.
