I used to profess to being an atheist. I am a Christian now. I don't necessarily "believe" everything about the bible but I am taking it on faith. Faith and belief are two different things. I can believe things I see or have been reported to have been seen or proven based on evidence. I have faith that God exists and he sent his son to die on the cross in my place, to pay for my sins. We KNOW that we don't know everything. Science is supposed to be a tool to understand how the universe is put together and how it works. When you mix it with politics, whether global warming or creationism it becomes a hoax. An honest person will look at the evidence and determine what is real. A politician will determine what can be turned and used.
I know America has entered into a new realm of belief that centers on scientific consensus that jettisons religious belief and gut feelings to a dustbin. Part of this campaign is based on the notion that man controls or is the ultimate influence on everything. I don't think that's true. Because I don't think that's true I'm free to believe anything is possible. I don't accept limits placed by guys in lab coats, and you shouldn't either.

I have tremendous respect for science, but I think it becomes a toxic brew when mixed with politics to achieve goals that ironically have more...
