Just another area that the government is intruding into illegally. I don't give a hoot what Roberts said, Obamacare is unconstitutional. The federal government does so much that is beyond their purview that they should all be in jail. Nothing in the constitution says they can tell anyone what to buy. Nothing in the constitution says they can take your money and give it to me or anyone else. Anything not specifically empowered to the federal government by the constitution is forbidden for them to do. Read the 10th amendment. Amendment 10 - Powers of the States and People. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. This amendment has been as badly violated as the second amendment has been.

SCOTUS Justice Roberts said that Congress had the right to pass the Affordable Care Act. He said that Congress had the right to levy a tax to fund that Act. He was right on both counts. He did not say that Congress had the authority to make individuals purchase insurance, or anything else. This is what caused the sponsors of the Act to concede that the funding of the Act would be done through taxation, a position they vehemently denied when trying to sell the concept. Roberts went on to say that elections have consequences. It doesn't take a legal scholar to figure out what he meant. To me, that comment meant "A majority of voters elected Obama and gave the Democrats majorities in the House and Senate. If you don't like what they did, vote them out." We made a start in 2010, but fell short in 2012.

Unfortunately, the Constitution does give Congress the right to tax individuals (take our money) and spend it any way they choose. They have been doing that for as long as I have been alive.

What Roberts said was self-contradictory if you read it. He said that yes, governement has the power to tax and that the Obamacare mandate is only Constitutional if it is a tax, yet all along the Democrats said that Obamacare ISN'T a tax. That particular ruling is one of the worst ever in terms of logic, coherency and sound legality. If you want a better ruling, read Scalia's dissent.

So by your reasoning, anyone in a higher office is totally qualified and always right.
