That's not mooching. You earned it. A pension is not the same as welfare and EVERYONE with a lick of sense knows it. Please don't misunderstand the terms.

The article says, " A taker is someone who draws money from the government, as an employee, pensioner or welfare recipient.". As a pensioner, Dr. Zinj would be counted as a "taker". He's earned his pension, of course, but millions of bureaucrats are given fat pensions for doing far less. Them, I might count as "takers" - although if your employer promises you a pension, you're entitled to it, no doubt.

Three years ago, I put together a “Moocher Index” that measured the degree to which non-poor people in a state were benefiting from redistribution programs.

As you can see if you click on the nearby table, Vermont was the worst state, followed by Mississippi, Maine, New York, and Massachusetts.
