Liberalism isn't based on government being the solution. Close, but not quite. Liberalism is based on the belief that liberals are better than everyone else, and that everyone else needs taking care of, looking out for, or we will all end up scratching in the dirt, starving, squatting in our own filth, while rich robber barons lord it over us. Therefore, liberals must be in charge of government, must quash all dissent with crushing force, must kill any that refuse to obey (for their own good, of course), and every word and deed must be watched, scrutinized, recorded, and preserved for future use. Every liberal has an inner tyrant, just waiting to get out.
