Tyranny is no Longer 'Lurking'

Nice column, Cal. Will you now recant your statements criticizing Ben Carson for calling out this tyrant on the monstrosity known as ObamaCare?

tibby, that's a very good description of Tebow - nicely done...
I probably speak for a majority of Americans as I am ambivalent about immigration reform. Illegal immigration does not seem to directly affect me. Philosophically, I understand that people who are here illegally broke the law and probably should have been dealt with a long time ago. I'm aware of the reality that the current law is not enforced and has not been enforced. If a new law will fix a broken system, I'm all for it. The fact is, I don't really know if a new law will be enforced any better than the old law, and I'm not all that worked up about it. I AM ticked off about the IRS intimidation --- and the DOJ wiretapping of the press --- and ESPECIALLY about the cover up of the complicity of the Administration in the deaths of four Americans in Libya. THOSE are issues to get worked up about. Immigration --- not-so-much.

Mark Sanford, Welcome Back to Washington

If Mark Sanford ran against Nancy Pelosi, I would want him to win. In his victory against Colbert-Busch, that's essentially what he did.
"... loving someone, even if one intends for that love to be permanent, is not enough to constitute marriage. That trivializes marriage." Why do same sex "marriage" proponents fail to refute this point? (maybe because it's irrefutable)
Prager's "voice" is best raised when pointing out and attacking the totalitarian, feelings-based ideology that drives leftist's thoughts and actions. Dennis Prager has thus found a target-rich environment that will never be exhausted as long as Democrats are in charge. Unfortunately, Prager's spot-on attacks will be enabled to continue throughout his long life, to the detriment of our country and the world, as leftism continues its relentless assault on traditional values and its assault on common sense.

OK, I'll bite: Where did the column "poke fun at people?" When I mentioned your possible intolerance, I was referring to your apparent desire that such a column not be written.

"Poking fun or saying no one should talk about the subject is pretty sinful if you ask me." Inferring that a column which addresses these issues as being "pretty sinful" is sad and ironic in the context of your entire comment. I think the one tending toward intolerance, mulberry, is staring back at you in the mirror.
In an age of self-esteem, self-worth, self-awareness, self-gratification, self-actualization, self-magazine, and selfishness, do you really expect people to understand anything about --- self-control?

Why Is There a Hookup Culture?

Chries Wrote: Apr 30, 2013 1:44 AM
When you get to buy your first brand new luxury automobile, you will look at the manufacturer's recommendations for how to best take care of that car. We have something even more valuable - our children and our young people - but we reject the Manufacturer's Recommendations (the Bible) on how to tell them to live life to the fullest. A nice car will start out great, but if you don't properly take care of it, it will not do what it was made to do. Hooking up may be fun, but the Manufacturer's plan - the optimum - is exclusive monogamy; staying pure until marriage and remaining faithful throughout marriage. Such a lifestyle isn't essential for survival, it's just the best. Why not strive for the best?
