crazy lady - a 223 = an m-16 on single-shot an m-16 on single-shot can fire between 30 and 40 rounds per minute - and that's for a slow, inexperienced shooter. a practiced shooter can get off 45-55 rounds in a minute - emptying the clip in less than a minute and reloading within 50 seconds total. that may not be "high-powered" for 10-division battle in WW2' but when you're up against civilians, even adults who can run rather than kids ln a room, that 30 round clip in a 223 rifle might well have been an A-Bomb

so what. You can miss use anything. You can kill a whole bunch people with any gun if you are the only one armed. yes you m,ight be able to fire 55 rounds in a min but you won't hit much unless you are 3 feet away.

Last night on the O'Reilly Factor, the debate between Bill O'Reilly and Rep. Jason Chaffetz got extremely heated after O'Reilly called for Congress to pass a law requiring the registration of all "heavy" weapons to be reported to the FBI because it "makes sense."

First off, if you want to buy a machine gun legally, you can't get one unless you get a special permit from ATF. O'Reilly grossly misstated the facts. You cannot go buy a mortar or a full automatic machine gun at any gun...
