I do own firearms, and yes, i have noticed all the idiots panic buying. I dont see where the DHS having a five year contract to buy ammo, at the same rate that they have been purchasing it for the past ten years has anything to do with it.

Exactly how? Commercial manufactures are making and selling almost 15 billion rounds a year. The DHS purchases about 150 million rounds a year. It's going to be hard to corner the market buying only 1 percent.
