With the fiscal cliff looming here is the US aid going to Israel. "The fiscal year 2013 budget request “includes $3.1 billion in Foreign Military Financing [FMF] for Israel and $15 million for refugee resettlement. The U.S. Missile Defense Agency’s FY2013 budget request includes $99.8 million in joint U.S.-Israeli co-development for missile defense.” “The United States has helped defray the cost of Israel’s domestically-developed short-range anti-rocket system, dubbed ‘Iron Dome.’ It was developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. Development of Iron Dome began in February 2007. Each battery for that system costs $50 million….” Just how much involvement with Israel do you want?

Here are some things to think about, chicaree: 1. The aid to Israel is roughly equal to the aid the US gives to Israel's enemies, in aggregate. 2. The aid to Israel comes with many strings attached, including how the money must be spent. In practice, Israel is stuck buying weapons it cannot use, and parts for hardware it does not own. That $3 billion is more a way to prop up the US military manufacturers than anything else. 3. Many in Israel want to reduce the aid it gets from the US, but only if aid to its enemies is reduced in equal proportions. 4. The technology developed for Iron Dome will someday be needed here in the US, and thanks to Israel, it is already battlefield proven. continued...

5. Israel provides intel to the US that was recently valued at about $60 billion. IOW, it would cost us taxpayers $60 billion to acquire the intel data that Israel provides for free, with no strings attached. 6. Israel would not need Iron Dome as nearly as much if the US hadn't forced Israel to retreat from Gaza. When the IDF had bases in Gaza, it could identify and destroy missile launch sites fairly easily. It was Condi Rice, with Bush's support, that forced Sharon to evacuate this strategically important area, so perhaps the US has some responsibility for the situation that resulted from the evacuation of Gaza.

Another Billion or Two or Ten or Hundred or Trillion more would be good. Give the Israeli's two FBM Submarines and at least 57 Trident II, D5's. That is enough for all of Obama's 57 Muslim States in the OIC. Nuke em all. Multiple warheads, rumor, classified, is 8. That way one could take out All of the Moo Slim Capitals near Israel. That leaves another,... let me see 56X8 = 448 for anyone else that attacks them.

There has been much talk of late about America’s “fiscal cliff.” As troubling as our impending (Obama-spurred) economic collapse may be – and it is more troubling than even our most pessimistic economists are willing to admit – I’m even more concerned about fast-mounting tensions worldwide.

As the world government ship of fools drifts unmanned amid a sea of unparalleled global volatility, we, her passengers, behold – brewing on the horizon – an economic and foreign relations “perfect storm.”

As so often is the case, the hurricane swirls around the Middle East.

Historically, the president of the United...
