Senator Scott Beason would be a huge improvement over Bachus. But even if you don't like him either, please go vote tomorrow for one of the other challengers, which include Blount County judge David Standridge and Tea Party activist Al Mickle.

Bachus needs to go! If anyone here is interested in discussing who to replace him with - especially if you're in Alabama's 6th congressional district - please join my facebook group on this topic: https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/187869974645862/

Scrap iron - I'm also a big fan of the FairTax. This is me being subtle (perhaps overly so), looking for a nibble... see you around on FT2012

You're absolutely right about Republicans worsening the debt with their spending and corporate welfare. But the tax rate cuts (for EVERYONE who paid taxes, not just the wealthy) resulted in increased revenue. W's tax cuts took effect in 2003. Revenue which had been stagnant or falling for three years prior, rose 3% the year after cuts took effect, 12% the year after that, and 11% the year after that. Cutting taxes did not contribute to the deficit. We have a spending problem, not a revenue problem.

Trying to stimulate the economy with taxed, borrowed or printed money is like trying to fill your swimming pool by throwing buckets of water from the deep end into the shallow end. If you really want to stimulate the economy, drop income, payroll & cap-gains taxes.
ha! "he did in NM..." Obviously I meant "He did IT in NM"...
What are we small "L" libertarian, tea-party-type, low-tax, low-regulation, serious-about-entitlement-reform, non-"climate-change"-hysterical voters looking for? Gary Johnson ... he did in NM, he can do it nationally. He's one of the few talking about balancing the budget in his first term, not 30+ years from now. And if not Gary ... get on the Cain train and roll the dice! The possibility of a good result is better than being assured of a bad one.

Don't misunderstand ... I don't like Mitt either. I'm more of a Herman Cain / Gary Johnson kinda voter.

Exactly! Heck - with Huckabee in control, making sure we all stop smoking and lose weight, we probably won't need nearly as much health care!

Hey Democratic Socialism, do you think raising tax rates on the rich will produce more revenue? Or do you not care about that & just want everything to be fair?
