How for a moment can you conclude that individual rights is discructive of our society. Read! Read 'Common Sense', this was the singular publication that inspired the people of the states to rise up to war against the super power of England. Read the words of our founders, read the words of those the founders relied on. There is no case what so ever to be made that the founders did not value individual rights above all else. Government, in any form, was considered distructive of the rights of the individual. The intent was to conceive a government that would be the least distructive. Study a little history. Our founders specifically rejected the idea that the rights of citizens were a grant from the government. The sole purpose of the Constitution was to define the authority of the government - it may do this much and no more. The biggest mistake our founders made was in ratifying the bill of rights. Many of that time thought it would eventually be used to limit our rights to those enumerated - they appear to have been right. So long as you participate in looking to the constitution as a source of your rights you will be aiding those that seek to deny you the rights you were intended.
