Unintended Consequences

I heard that a large percentage of the recent general surgery residents flunked their oral board examinations. This was the first group that trained completely under the regimen of restricted hours. It turns out that if you don't spend much time seeing patients you become a crappy doctor. Who knew?
Mr. Goodman's system would incentivize doctors to avoid sick patients to decrease their own malpractice premiums. With today's system, doctors still feel safe taking care of sick people. They merely have to document the severity of the patient's illness when they assume care. If the patient dies,. a jury would say: "Hey, the guy was pretty sick to begin with." The current system sucks, but at least a jury has to be convinced that the doctor did something wrong. I don't think Goodman's system would save money. People would come out of the woodwork with claims, and the professionals assessing the claims would go soft, just like they do with disability.
Wrong. CO2 is a component of normal human metabolism and acid/base balance. A basic metabolic blood profile measures CO2 levels.

I wonder if Cyprus would have tried to confiscate their peoples' money if the people were armed.

Actually, Obama and Ben have not permitted the proper restructuring of debt. They have merely reinflated the bubble, setting the stage for a larger collapse.
