They merely have to document the severity of the patient's illness when they assume care. If the patient dies,. a jury would say: "Hey, the guy was pretty sick to begin with." The current system sucks, but at least a jury has to be convinced that the doctor did something wrong. I don't think Goodman's system would save money. People would come out of the woodwork with claims, and the professionals assessing the claims would go soft, just like they do with disability.
