The problem is as Robert Higgs highlighted, there is no solution to ever growing leviathan government!

The market just has to adapt to it as we adapt to global warming! No solution, just face it.

Perhaps the silver lining is that we can be ever more creative, finding ways to circumvent laws, something good for our minds and health!

I have long contemplated that democracy and capitalism are incompatible.

This is the logic: In a democratic society, the majority or the society dominates the minority if all people come out to vote, known as the tyranny of the majority. This is in fact one facet of communism in which community matters, individual does not.

So what's the better choice? Republic and capitalism work best. Yes, in a pure republic government has no hands in the economic activities at all. I would suggest using A.I. and computers to run the budget and daily chores of governing the public goods and services.

Here the program could be modeled based on a reasonable consensus amongst economists and intellectuals.

Too bad the world is built on this playing field where politicians "control" the others.

A true agency problem that cannot be resolved in centuries to come.

A computerized government in sci-fiction may be the answer.

Now you know why so many have not come out to vote.

Democracy is bad. Pure republic is good.

Instead of putting in humans in Washington, simply deploy computers to run the daily chores such as payouts to police, etc.

Computers could do a better job. They can utilize the economic models agreed by the majority economists in running the budget. A.I. could be the solution.
