A real free market of education would have lots of schools sponsored by churches, synagogues, vegetarian societies, political parties, ethnic groups (you want your kid to learn Chinese - send him to the Chinese school) you name it. - There would be all sorts of schools. America once had a lot of "dame schools" where women taught young children the basics from a room in their house. I can envision trade schools opened by hairdressers, mechanics, secretaries, and on and on. Your local museum could start a school.

AGREED - sort of. I agree with the scenario, but the American who works their whole life then decides to retire in the old country (or another country) is entitled to the social security money which was stolen from them by the government. It is those illegals, and the legals who scam the system that are the problem.

Right, and the usual reason for such disruptions is that teachers are FORBIDDEN from imposing ANY discipline in their classrooms. So the kids know they will get away from it. THAT IS THE TYPICAL SCENARIO LESS TYPICAL BUT ALSO PROBLEMATIC is the child with severe emotional or mental problesm who should not be there to begin with. But due to some teacher union or school board ruling the child "main-lined" so he/she will "feel better about themselves" and so the other children can learn more about "diversity" . TO HELL WITH PUBLIC SCHOOLS - get the government out of the education business and we will not see these problems and we will have a better educated (and no it doesn't have to be a 4 year degree and knowledge of Latin) population.

This is great - keep up the good work and may everyone who reads this do it, and spread the word. I especially encourage those who believe in this to get involved with local community organizations that plan July 4th celebrations (museums, historical societies, parks). Most of them are understaffed and often their activities ignore the true meaning the day (one of my local parks includes overly loud, irrelevant music, and cutting out paper dolls for little girls - huh?). You can bring that message to them. It may be too late for this year but start working with them and by this time next year you could make a real impact. It will still leave plenty of time to have your own celebrations.

In some countries it is easy to get a driving permit, without a test, but people cannot afford a car. So even if they studied for a test it wouldn't matter. SO what is your excuse?

UGH - I have lived with solar panels and solar-heated water. Fine when the sun shines but in the winter you have to use electricity to heat the water and that takes 10-20 minutes because the water has to make it's way from the tank. And having a tank on the roof is a nightmare. And having lived in Washington, DC I know that the winters are took long to make this any sense.

And as a rule Christians give to Christian charities and Jews to Jewish charities - no surprise there. This is America - you have a right to give where and to who ever you want.
