The data for the last 15 years has shown NO rise in global temperatures, that is why they changed the name to climate change instead of global warming. When doesn't the climate change on earth? It changes with every sun spot or volcanic eruption.

The only thing that I can fault Hagel's policies on is that he only seems to be pacifist towards our enemies. The Military/Industrial complex certainly needs to be pared down to size and we should not be running around the whole world acting as the local police, but that is NOT what Hagel has recomended. He is all for military bases all over the world, except in the Middle East.

Actually, on this one issue, I tend to agree with him. Enough of the undeclared wars. We have not been out of a state of war or conflict since the Korean War and I would think that the citizens of this country would be sick of 70 years of almost continual warfare. I don't like his stand on foreign aid however.

This is a false arguement and you have to differentiate between Crony Capitalism as practiced by our current Federal Government and TRUE capitallism that has not existed since the creation of the Federal Reserve. America has continued to prosper, in most ways, in spite of the idiots that are running the Federal Government, not because of them with precious few exceptions. I refer to leaders such as Calvin Coolidge and Ron Paul.

Just one more reason to not watch the Oscars this year, as I have stopped watching them in previous years.

First of all, RodT is right about where the spending and cutting starts, but the amount that PBS gets from the government is a small proportion of their budget. They may have to step up their fundraising and try for more corporate donors but Big Bird is not going to be kicked to the curb.

That is exactly my thought on the subject. The SAHD's give the kids more freedom to play and entertain themselves, while the Mom's with SAHD's come home, put the place to right and make the kids do their homework and chores.

Everything that is wrong with United States economy could be fixed by the application of true Free Market principles. Companies that cannot sustain themselves by producing a product that the populace wants at a price that commenserate with value will FAIL and NOT be BAILED OUT by the taxpayers. Too Big to Fail is a completely failed policy especially when the underlying problems of a company are not addressed. Witness Government Motors, their stock is at $25/share and they are soon going to need yet another bailout, even while they are moving to China as fast as they can.

I think some of those misspellings are due to computer glitch. Someone is using a voice to text program and not proofreading.
