the thing about china is that it has borrowed capitalistic ideas from western nations. it is neither communist or capitalistic but a merger of the worst of both. there seems to be property rights for corporations and little rights for citizens. it has a large slae labor force. i do believe the chinese wages and working conditions are depressed. it could be argued that working in sweatshops, liiving in worker dormotries and 80 hour workweeks are a choice, however so is starvation. i remember tienanmen square do you. the GE CEO is a fool, possibly he may wish for the same conditions to happen in america.

Do you think for even one moment that the Chinese would be handing out food stamps, subsidized housing, free medical care, welfare checks and cell phones to those who felt like sitting on their A$$ all day? Do you think the Chinese would increase welfare payments to women who kept having more and more children? Quite the opposite, they tax people extra who have more than one child. How's that for planned parenthood?

It is just a different society. The party cadre do get all kind of free benefits and easy jobs. In addition, about 2% of their society get all the wealth and control everything.

China does NOT "tax people extra" for more than one child;they forcibly ABORT any unapproved child. And the parents who try get on the "Krap list". they lose their jobs, become "non-persons".

Well...actually, China didn't have to "borrow" capitalism from anyone. It was and advanced mercantile society back when most of Europe was still in the Bronze Age.

I already worked 80 hours per week and not by choice, unless you count the choice given to Chinese and other workers a choice. Bad guys live everywhere. We too are surrounded by them. Weren't you here for the "looks like" election?

“Jim Jett always used to say that his brother was the damndest scoundrel that was ever borne,” drawled Abraham Lincoln, “but by the infinite mercy of providence he was also the damndest fool.”

Jeffrey Immelt, the modern version of Jim Jett’s brother and Chief Executive Officer of General Electric, should be fired.

Actually, if it’s possible, he should be fired twice: once because he’s a scoundrel and another time because he’s a fool.

As a fool and as a scoundrel, the guy has wonderful timing; timing that can only be attributed to the vast Left-Wing conspiracy that aims to convince...
