Too many places of quote worship are only social party's dedicated to the worship of self. The culture is producing narcissism and when the unsaved enter the pulpit it's for profit. Their god is their appetite, they know no restraint. Far better a small congregation of committed saints ill dressed and ill mannered in the worlds ways so long as the truth is their leader. A pastor takes a bible text and explains it, if your's doesn't change churches.

Most of America's problems are cultural. Even our economic problems stem from the cultural rejection of personal responsibility and the acceptance of collective responsibility. And none of our problems would be as bad if the church was still shaping the culture instead of merely responding to it. I was reminded of this during my annual holiday trip home to The Woodlands, Texas.
