I wonder what Mrs Sherrod's status was in the USDA? Was she a tenured employee, a GS employee managed by the Office of Personnel Management, or was she an appointee. I tend to think she was a GS employee due to the fact that she has worked for the USDA for some time now. If that is the case, the government erred when it offered her a new job with a promotion. This kind of activity needs to go to arbritration.
As an American I am embarrased that this president has used the State of the Union address to decry and admonish the rulings of the US Supreme Court is beyond believability! It was a bully boy tactic that goes contrary to the decorum of State and then for senators to stand up and applaud! Unbelievable! ------ If Rep. Wilson was called up for calling out "you lie" as being out of order. So too should this action.

I see many postings here that incorrectly talk about congressional Health Insurance. Members of Congress are covered under the Federal Employees Health Benefit (FEHB)Plan which is operated by various insurance companies under the auspices of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). under FEHB, the government pays a portion of the monthly cost, and the remainder of the cost is borne by the government employee. I do not believe I ever heard the POTUS say that Americans could be covered by FEHB--they can't unless they are Federal employees. I think what he said was the possibility of creating a similar plan for Americans. And Congress did not exempt itself from the healthcare bill--the FEHB program is one of the healthcare programs...
