I have to agree that practically all politicians are only interested in power and money. We reaqlly shouldn't be all that surprised that the present goverment is simply maintaining the status quo of adding more and more programs to spend our money on. My idea of a good stimulus package would be to allow me to keep more of what little money I earn to spend on the things I need for daily living. I believe this would provide a much better boost to the economy than any program that the goverment could possibly come up with. Also relaxing some of the exorbitant taxes on gas and on corporations would help a lot. But this wouldn't allow the politicians enough control over everybody's life so the liklihood of this is zero or less. Let's set up...

Well now. Our economy is really lunging forward, isn’t it? What a ride! Are you holding on?

We’re billions of dollars further in debt (trillions?) and the economy is still stagnant. TARP, the stimulus bill, massive debts our children and grandchildren will have to pay .. and what has this all brought us? Banks aren’t lending, businesses aren’t hiring – let along expanding – and consumers aren’t buying. Oh, to be sure, the malls are crowded. Turn up the thermostats and see how long that lasts.
