Lyndon Johnson defeated Goldwater just under a year after the assassination of John F. Kennedy, whom the media quickly deified as having all the best qualities of Mahatma Gandhi, Superman and the Pope. A huge number of Johnson votes had to be counted as memorial tributes to Holy Man JFK. Unfortunately, issues had little to do with the election.
Correct me. I meant to say that Joe Resnick was a Democrat. Mr. Fish was a RINO
I forgot to mention that Ham Fish was a conservative Democrat. Party labels mean little in the lower Hudson Valley. The most liberal member in the New York State Assembly is Joel Miller, who styles himself a Republican, and unfortunately represents the area in which I live.
The last time this district had a true conservative in Congress was more than 40 years ago, when Joseph Y. Resnick represented part of what is now the 19th District. He was succeeded by Republican Hamilton Fish Jr., hell of a nice guy, but as liberal as Teddy Kennedy. Ham was succeeded by another liberal Republican, Sue Kelly. Part of the reason for her defeat was the derfection of pro-life voters like me. Nan Hayward is a clone of Sue Kelly. She is pro-abortion, and her husband operates a clinic where abortions are performed. I cannot in good conscience vote for Nan Hayward.

Why do you call these murderous thugs "insurgents"? This is not some liberal venue where you have to be PC.
