Just registering my vote for lots of useful input here about education business that still exists in this and other lands and the need to promote it and the industry that drives the production of best outcomes for all. Easy to get so busy with the real business of this world that we let those who don't get it monkey with what works. Why do Dr. Sowell's articles attract such an angry crowd? He makes good sense to me, education-wise. Maybe it's just where I live, a backwater mid CA small town where last night locals awarded lots of scholarships to students in math, science, liberal arts, ag, industrial arts, music, etc. to colleges other than the CA "state university" just down the road. Guessing, as Brian describes, this institution is business first, and school second. I have been a fan of Ann's, and appreciate this article. But I wonder if anyone can explain to me why she's so harshly critical of people like me who see the birth certificate matter as just one of many reasons not to trust anything President Obama says about bin Laden either. Obama's motives, it is his actions that should be our concern, rather than insisting that people like me are ignorant, hate Obama and live under rocks. It's bad enough to be called a racist and rabid religious nuts by Democrats for even questioning Obama's policies. Agreed - stop paying taxes! I've been wanting to do that for some time now. That way I could support family members who lose their pay when the government shuts down even from jail after I'm convicted of tax evasion. If all the old folks did this we'd throw the "system" into such a world of hurt. that the new young foundation of private enterprise could take our country back. Just a thought that needs a lot of tweeking - but seems like more worth our time and consideration than what's going on now!

They just didn't want anybody else to be free" unfortunately describes our poster boys for the American Dream like Obama and Van Jones who want to reinvent the Dream to see that it rewards nobody but their little band of narcissists.
