Unlike this guy, I stayed home in Houston, enjoyed my AC, and not running out of gas 50 miles down the road. I fixed a nice steak for supper that night and enjoyed a cooling breeze of a 15 mph wind. Some special needs children died out on that blocked Highway thanks to the Media hysteria.

Unlike you, I evacuated from Beaumont, where Rita hit. The city was devastated by the actual storm, unlike New Orleans a month earlier with Katrina, which weathered the storm but was flooded due to poorly maintained levees.

We were not allowed back in to survey damage and clean up for three weeks. I had only minor flooding and a fridge full of rotten food.
