The GOP narrative for the next four years is going to be "blacks and browns voted democrat because they want free stuff". This will sell books, increase tv viewership and radio listenership but it will not translate into votes, nor will it make any inroads into these communities. And I suspect I'm not the only person who realizes this. And that begs the question: are movement conservatives more concerned with saying and writing the types of comments that rally their dwindling base than they are with winning elections?

Don't know if the story will be that blacks and browns voted democrat as much as the lazy, insecure and incompetent voted democrat.....

That's been the biggest post-election surprise to me. The very attitudes and deeply held notions that lost the election are more pervasive than ever.

If it didn't work the first time, keep doing it over and over and over.

Unfortunately, I believe you're right, telling people who voted for Obama the truth will not cause them to reflect on their own selfishness and and decide to become productive members of society. The Republican party does not have a problem with minorities, it has a problem with liberal minorities (and majorities).

what the Republicans need to do is point out loudly and frequently how each DemocRAT act economically HARMS the ethnics and special interests. They did NOT hammer on the economy in any effective way in the last election. Instead they succumbed to diversions.

Some media pundits see in the growing proportion of non-white groups in the population a growing opposition to the Republican Party that will sooner or later make it virtually impossible for Republicans to win presidential elections or even to control either house of Congress. But is demography destiny?

Conventional wisdom in the Republican establishment is that what the GOP needs to do, in order to win black votes or Hispanic votes, is to craft policies specifically targeting these groups. In other words, Republicans need to become more like Democrats.

Whether in a racial context or in other contexts, the...
