I disagree with your premise Katie. FIrst, we should not answer the question about "why do you need..?"Unless the answer is "none of your dam business" We have a right to firearms because the giverment is not granted the authority by the Consitution, to take them away. Second amendment or no second amendment. Let’s be clear. We have that right because we need it not to hunt, not to target practice, not to collect, ... but to defend ourselves from tyrants that will try to kill us as socialism reaches its more mature state. As nearly every other socialist tyrant has done throughout history. I have guns to kill those would attack me. Not just burglars. .

When I joined up, I took an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I did not take an oath to defend the government.
