The former President enjoys the liberties of this nation as do all citizens. He is just quoted far too much by a puerile brained press. While there is much he has done (Habitat for Humanity and others) that does contribute to the good, it is overshadowed by his pronouncements and political silliness writ large. Mr. Carter would be well advised to exit the world stage and continue his benevolent efforts locally. And, for all of our sake's, would the media please turn the cameras and recorders away from a dotty old

Oh, the irony that former President Jimmy Carter has claimed big headlines by saying that South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson's "You lie!" outburst against Barack Obama during the president's speech last week was racially motivated.
