Time for You to Address Violence in Black Communities, Mr. Obama

One reason for the low employment of black fathers is racism on the part of potential employers. It is hard for the father in the family to gain the respect of his children if his wife is the only one that can land a job, even a low-paying one. When a father is regularly present and respected, the children always do better.

This is BS. Even the appearance of institutionalized racism by companies is such a litigation risk, that any large employer would bend over backward for qualified, black, male applicants. If your view had any merit, there would not be a large disparity between employment rates of black men and black women in America. Why don't you try looking at the elephants in the room, which are failure to graduate, thuggish demeanor and the arrest and conviction percentages of young, black males in urban areas?

Dear Mr. Obama,

This week Hadiya Pendleton was shot and murdered in Chicago just days after performing with high school marching band at your second inauguration.

She was a majorette in addition to playing volleyball and being an honor student at King College Prep High School.

My plea to you is you attend her funeral.

My plea is that after the funeral you address the entire nation in prime time and discuss an epidemic that's eroding our nation and destroying millions of dreams.

That is the real epidemic of violence in black communities

There is no better example than your hometown of Chicago or Chi-Raq as many locals have begun to call...
