What about medical deductions? My husband is severely handicapped and our medical deductions dwarf mortgage, state and local taxes and charitable deductions.

yes, but they did it willingly among their own group. The government didn't take it and give it to its friends.

My mother had a stroke at 86 while in Florida. Medicaid would pay for a horrible nursing home but not a less expensive wonderful assisted living. We bought a one-level house and brought my mother to live with us when her money ran out. Her SS and Veterans benefit paid for help for 6 hours a day. She lived in comfortably until her death at age 90 when she had a fatal second stroke.

Seems to me that the greedy are those who envy others and want what they have without working for it themselves.
