Good column, I never understood how legislatures and the media could be so obsessed with how a gun looks rather than how it performs. The only substantive regulation would be to restrict the magazine capacity to something like 5 rounds, worrying about whether or not the magazine is curved is extremely silly.

The problem is what the antis want is to prohibit the making, transfer, or possession of any semi-automatic action firearm, which is the logical response to your complaint.
