If these hellions would have sadistically berated a black or gay kid (or a black gay kid) Al Sharpton and Dan Savage would have pulled a groin muscle leaping to the occasion, and these little devils would have justly been hauled to juvey court facing a five-year lockdown and...
The story had somewhat of a happy ending. Many former students rallied around and supported the band teacher. The band teacher had LOTS of new students sign up for his private clarinet lessons.
I quit driving bus when they brought a student out to a bus with two security guards holding him and expected a lone bus driver to SAFELY drive the rest of the children home while dealing with a child two adults not driving were having problems with.
The bus driver is held accountable. Yet this stuff happens all the time. One spit on me, called me names, etc and I 'lost' it - I pulled the buss over to a safe location and radioed for them to come and pick this child up as I was not moving the bus until this child was off the bus because of safety issues.
