Making the Case For Life

The "pro-life" movement loves to claim that life begins as conception. What they never claim is that human life begins at conception. If they did claim that human life begins at conception, they would quickly find they are out numbered in that opinion. Most Americans don't have any issue with contraception or the morning after pill because they don't believe human life begins at conception.

Caveat: HUMAN LIFE BEGINS AT FERTILIZATION OF A HUMAN EGG BY A HUMAN SPERM. Will that work for you? BTW, dog life begins at fertilization of a dog egg with dog sperm. See how that works?

So if there was a "moral consensus" that slavery is a right, would that make such a thing true?

If life begins at conception, then similarly, human life also begins at conception.

There are different kinds of contraceptives, but some of them are simply abortifacients - we do recognize the difference, as does anyone else who might choose to rise above the ignorance of their "peers."

Speak for yourself and not "most Americans" .

I doubt most people are "pro-death".

Women generally don't even know they're pregnant until after the baby's heart has started beating. And abortions happen at all stages of pregnancy.

As far as actual abortion goes, the question of human life beginning at conception is actually irrelevant. Whatever uncertainty may exist, it *definitely* begins before any stage when abortion can take place.

As I've already pointed out, there are those on the Left who are willing to admit the absolute Truth

That you are so blind to this, only reflects on you.

In an ideal world, Roe v. Wade -- perhaps the most insidious Supreme Court ruling since the infamous Dred Scott decision in 1857 -- would be overturned. And contrary to what most leftists assert, however, this does not necessarily mean that abortion would be universally prohibited and illegal. For example, before Roe became the law of the land in 1973, abortion was permissible in certain states. The legality of abortion, then, should be decided by individuals at the state level -- at least in the short-term -- not by a High Court of un-elected, unaccountable judges in Washington. This would...
