from the beginning of our republic our philosophy of taxes has always been from what Adam Smith has said. People should pay to the best of their ability. Every American needs certain things to succeed in life. Health & Education should be part of that. What we really should be doing is making sure that every American that is working is able to have food shelter, clothing healthcare and the ability to get their kids a good education. We should care more about working Americans even in low paying jobs than people that aren't working that show no inclination to better themselves and are living off of welfare. Time to stop people from having children that are incapable of affording them, caring for them or making sure they go to...

We have crony capitalism for one reason and one reason only. Campaign funding is more important to polticians than the people voting for them. Why is that? 1. The News Media which used to viewed as a public service up until the advent of Cable TV and Internet now is mostly just there to make money for the big corporations that own them. There's less journalism, less factchecking and more sensationalism than ever. None of the news media actually looks into the issues they just report what the liars from both sides say. 2. You're right we should clean up the tax code. Get rid of all corporate loopholes and as many personal loopholes as possible. Still the tax code has to be somewhat progressive.

This shows the exact problem with all legislation. It's always written by industry lobbyists for their benefit without concern for everyone else. This legislation was clearly written by lobbyists for big media like Fox, Viacom, Disney etc.

Lived in Jerusalem from 84-88 and he spends as a ton of time in the Middle East and knows all the players.
