Get a grip Cal..$249,999 won't pay my wife's Vegas shopping bill..Corporate offshoring is better and very flexible tax wise.Reagan doubled worker rates while reducing top brackets because there were more workers than those of us that make the whole thing possible. The plan worked until outsourcing got carried away..but the mood is right in the US to bring those jobs back Workers are desperate and Unions are defunct..they will gladly swallow higher payroll deductions just to get work.

Unions are NOT defunct.
They are SUBSIDIZED.

Do you think it is a coincidence that just as the Republicans have suffered this huge - and very real - setback at the ballot box, the Unions are beginning to flex their muscles as they haven't in years?

It's political payback time, and the Union leaders know it. I'm just waiting to see Harry Reid introduce a FEDERAL No-Right-To-Work Bill in the next congress.

Catcaul: I want to thank you for paying all those taxes, if it weren’t for generous folks like you millions and millions of the new leisure class might actually have to go to work!
Congress returned to "work" this week (now there's a laugh) to complete its lame-duck session before taking another holiday. Spending other people's money is a taxing experience.

Their task is to avoid the "fiscal cliff," a geological construct of their own making. It doesn't take a genius to predict both parties will try to do two things: (1) reach an agreement that will allow each side to take some credit and (2) require those who work for a living to pay government more while they come up with phony, or inconsequential spending "cuts."

Whatever they do, payroll taxes...
