In Douglas county Oregon the spotted owl killed off plywood manufacture and sawmill work. The Corporations controlling the mills were forced to move production to Santiago Chile. Logs from Northwest Federal, State and private lands were shipped south and finished product was shipped back to the US. Unfortunately the massive earthquake in Chile destroyed many of these mills so we were forced to re-open mills in Roseburg Oregon to continue making lumber materials. This is causing extraordinary tax problems for us.
