Always refreshing to see Ollie wax poetic about "incompetance, misfeasance, and malfeasance" without mention of "felony conspiracy" something he has personal knowledge of. And the bit about Senator Kerry's testimony during the Winter Soldier hearings of 1971 is priceless ..imagine lying to congress !! Well Ollie should know about that as well. A disgrace to the USMC
How can Mitchell compare Kurgman's point, massive public infrastructure spending, with the actual policy of the past and current Brit Govt. ? Fixed expenditures like social contracts, National Health, interest on borrowings, fuel for the Military go up in price, austerity in public construction creates a vacumm sucking more money into the dole and away from taxable wages..thus percentage of debt to GDP increases..Krugman is correct ..Mitchell is a dunce

Two Journalists that were not considered "chiggers, ticks, scorpions or fire ants" by infantry and sailors in harms way, would be Ernie Pyle and George Seldes..Because they wrote the truth about the enlisted mans life., and pillioried the hand wringing incompetents, petty monarchs, thieves and scoundrels occupying the Officer Corps

Ollie..If the Pres is determining when and where our Marines are getting gas and nuke training things are really bad. Perhaps explaning to Gunny that his ammo is short because the "Staff Officer Only" golf course must be mowed and primped will mollify him. Or tell Lance corporal his housing allottment was shredded so the General could fly his private C-40 to the Bahama's for a conference..

The tragedy of the Mormon diaspora from Nauvoo Illinois to dthe Great Basin brings tears to the eyes. Brigham Young, with all 43 wives of the deceased Joseph Smith, Mormon seer and founding prophet, took claim of the Great Salt lake for his Mormon tribe because, at the time, no one else wanted to stay in that bleak arid vicinity. With great iwsdom he sent his Destroying Angels out to pillage the emigrant trains passing by his fledgling town for re-supply of the "faithful" even going to war with the US Army in a breif skirmish to protect this right of piracy..However Mormon's are always pragmatists and sued for statehood, forswore rebellion against the US, and renounced polygamy (though all existing unions were allowed to continue)

Why do States allow divorce to occur. The breakup of traditional marriage if children are present is the HOV lane to the Welfare state..If we could only get an amendment to DOMA that includes a "No Divorce" clause ,our problems would be solved.. Man/Woman families that stay together because the State tells them to, for the good of society, will lead to less government spending and less Welfare.
C'mon. this column is about Jesus, and what would he do with a firearm, that he preferred whips (wha' ?) and Costas questioning our values vis-a-vis firearms in society. We should teach our youngsters about firearms like we teach em not to step out into the street without looiking..that is early and often. So if they encounter some dude waving a piece around, and they are not themselves armored up, they should book to the nearest exit,.
I understand supernatural, it's a 105 short round dropping into the mud 10 feet away from me and my gunner..it was a dud. but Jesus would have appreciated two dudes skimming over 50 yards of paddy in about 2 seconds..sacrifice is different
The Senate "Advise and Consent" duties on Executive appointments shouldnt include any amendments ?? Why would limiting the filibuster rule to actually taking the floor, and speaking the objection,be a problem..
I did see a photo of Jesus once, with a M-14 in His Hands pointing it at a lil dude in black jammies. No doubt who's side the big guy was on in those days.. It is a shame his supernatural powers failed him there at the end,

Ms Chavez is being a bit disingenuous about the defense budget number..she has neglected to add the 2.2 million dollars, per day, the current war effort is costing the taxpayer, which is paid outside the defense appropriation,. Also our enormous spy net work costs us about the same, per day, everyday.. That is a nifty 1.2 Trillion per year that we never hear much about. Her premise is thus slightly flawed
